Hey I'm peter, some butt from London. I draw things and also play video games and stuff.

I also use the usernames Mediocre_Scrublord so yeah i am that guy. I got a tumble down there so yeah if you wanna follow me there then do that.

If you want something drawn then you can ask or leave a message or something. If you want an art trade or whatever else then that would also be fun probably. I would like to do commissions in like 2 years or something, when i get good enough.

I see that it's trying to look trendy but it really clashes with the design of the REST of the website. It's like having a windows 10 taskbar and start button with windows XP documents, if you know what I mean.
I definitely prefer the old design for the top bar, at least, because the middle space (where your eyes naturally gravitate to) is blank, pretty much. I'm not sure about other people, but I use the link to my own page as well as the notifications more than the right side of the top bar..
For the front page, (which I barely use) it seems to be a pretty sensible layout. If they stuck with the old visual style (the style that the REST OF THE SITE is in) but kept the newer layout, I think that would work.

Or convert EVERYTHING to the new modern minimalist stuff. I guess it's just the inconsistency.
Everything seems to be going for this big push towards minimalist, smooth, borderless designs, which I think would get a bit repetetive, but I can't disagree with how GOOD and CLEAN it looks.

I'm probably treating web design too seriously.
What do you think?

Web Design is a serious business. I agree with that Windows 10 stuff, the watch feed is kind of confusing and a tad annoying, and I wish someone would explain how to personalise it because now I have about 80 collections of Sonic on my frontpage. It also feels like the new iPads/Phones/Pods with their new screens.

mhm
I think theres an evolution of visual design at the moment, which can be summed up by how each new version of windows looks. I think it moves up one every 6 or 7 years.
2000+ is Windows xp style. Garish and deep, flat-ish colours and round edges. Icons tend to just be pictures
2007+ is windows vista and 7, vivid neon colours, very shiney with gradients and blurs and smooth edges. Icons tend to have outlines or minor details
2013+ is windows 8 and 10, with bright, flat colours, sharp and clean edges. Icons tend to be smooth, borderless and simplified.

Looks pretty nice though, I wonder what it will look like in the future.

Perhaps it's just because it's new and I'm not used to it.
